History of Samoeng Church |

|
In 1984, Rev. Wanchai Supawas together with the family moved to work with Thai Lanna Church, Chiang Mai. At that time Rev. Dan Dunham was a senior Pastor. Thai Lanna Church sent Rev. Wanchai’s family to evangelize at Somoeng District by opening a house for evangelism called “Samoeng New life Center.”
His two sons, Kunchit and Suwit, moved to study their 6th and 5th grades at Samoeng School. At first there were persecutions from the villagers; some threw stones into window glasses and some threw hand-made bombs into the house during the nights. Finally, Rev. Wanchai’s family moved to another village called “Ban Huaykok,” which is 500 meters north from Somoeng District. They began to evangelize again. In 1986, there were some foreign believers who donated money to the ministry through Rev. Joe Harbison, who is a missionary. They bought a land: less than 400 sq. meters. They also bought an old house and brought its woods to build a two-storey house (6 x 6 m.): a kitchen (3 x 4 m.), a bedroom for children (3 x 6 m.). After that they built a church building (it is connected to the house) for worship until today. |
